Wörthersee LFD Visual Diary – Pure Glisten

28th May 2011

Groundhog Day at My Lake Hotel: The pressure of meeting deadlines (blogging) and replying zillions of emails are always immensely depressing especially when going on press trips, with late nights and endless caffeine consumption and cheekily check on new feeds on Bloglovin’ as a distraction.  Nothing stopped me from bringing my giant Macbook Pro 15″ laptop to Lake’s Fashion Days in Austria…Shini and I spent our first night with our laptops in a dimly lit hotel restaurant (where wifi was available) painstakingly-continuously photoshopping images, catch up with backlog posts and emails, and by after midnight we headed to my room for tea and espresso….omg why?

On day 2 we were blinded by the beautiful glisten of mid-day sun yet again with laptops under our arms, a lunch date with local fashion bloggers from Germany, Austria, Slovenia and the like, I only recognised two names (pictured) from past press trips to Milan somewhere else.  It was an honour to meet Fensišmensi (my new favourite blog), Bees And Ballons, Bikinis And Passports, Cool Outfit, C-Heads Mag, Fanfarella, H.anna, Kathmography, Life.Style.Fun, Madonna, Mangoblute, Model Talk, Oblacilnica, Repeatoire, Kingdom Style, The Fashion Globe, Stylish Kids In Riot, Style Kitchen and Vienna Style.

Lake’s Fashion Days at My Lake Hotel: There were about at least 10 or so designers showing hourly each day, one particular designer Katrina Kafka caught my eye with her romantic, structural-engineer-esque collection stunned by her immaculate, attention to detail. I was told the collection was created a week before Katrina presented her show…total awesomeness.

Stay tuned for more visual diaries 😀

Special thanks to: Natacha at Mango PR, My Lake Hotel & Spa, Lake’s Fashion Days, Shini for the photo.

    I see what you mean about meeting deadlines, blogging is like a job it sucks for some others. Ouch for bringing the macbook pro it’s a pain in the ass to bring it along with you to press trips….you should get a netbook 😀

    I don’t recognise any of the bloggers you listed in the second paragraph, seems like you and park and cube are the only two bloggers invited from the UK? if so that’s realllly cool, i would have expected other bloggers like disneyrollergirl, libertylondongirl and stylebubble to be there too.

      @fensismensi – Oh yes it’s very Versace-esque.
      @Katrin Kafka – Your collection was my favourite at LFD 😀
      @Too Many Pearls, Dave, Ingrid – You know I can’t live without my laptop and internet. Not sure about Ipad can you blog from it?
      @broca box – Yes, Shini and I were the only Brit bloggers invited to Austria, as for the other Brits they were already out of the country.

    Broca Box – It is a sad fact that all super bloggers have the opportunities to go on press trips because of their credibilities, sounds glamourous but don’t you think it would be boring to see the same group of people (all the time)? It is wonderful to seee these two fresh faces whom I believe both have incredible exposure, I suggest you check out their Press pages.

    Fabian – LOL.

    Love this post Kit.
