HK visual diary: Luncheon at Agnes B

22nd February 2012

The Finale.  This is the last series of my Hong Kong visual post and I’m already saddened by the fact that under a small amount of my time (2 months), I’ve been missing my village life in the country and my independence.  Now that I’m back home to attend London Fashion Week (posts coming soon), I’m staying right here on the capitalistic Brit soil for a l-i-t-t-l-e wee while before I jet off somewhere, permanently.

A final catch up over lunch with the lovely Denise Lai of SUPERWOWOMG at the Agnes B Le Pain Grille on Gough Street, Shueng Wan, the cafe is soon to become of my one of my favourite hotspots for lunch meets (when I return to HK).

A combination of contemporary cafe and florist shop adds a touch of French chicness and little corner of Paris to the buzzling slopy neighbourhood, decorated with a hint of French decor, mosaic flooring, bistro chairs and small round tables.  Looking at those shots feels like I’m being transported back to the year of 2008 on Rue du Temple, where I was assigned to assist an editorial shoot for Quintessentially magazine, we shot a lovely fashion and jewellery story in a slightly dated cafe in low sepia light.  Romantic.

Sadly, you will not find any Agnes B cafes internationally but are located in Hong Kong and Taiwan only.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had a branch too in London?

Thanks to Denise (pictured) for sparing her lunch hour for our finale catch up, loved how Sam of Sam is Home recreated my shot of Denise peering through the window in her latest post.

Until next time, I’ll be back!  Thank you Hong Kong, you were sooo good to me.

Lovely photos as always. The Agnes B cafe looks adorable and yes, I think it’s high time that London had a slice of the action! From what I gather, I’m guessing you’ll be moving back to HK permanently eventually? So pleased for you Kit! Will be awesome to see future posts in HK with you based there. I can’t wait to fly out there on Monday.

The photos are beautiful, loved how the florist shop is actually inside the cafe, I might pop by one day when I visit HK…one day.

The Asians loves Agnes B and I’m surprised they’re not so popular in the UK. I hear there’s DKNY cafe in Mayfair? Have you tried there, their lattes are nice.

We too love seeing your photos. We recently had a client who also wanted Patchwork Tile floors for 2 cafes and he referenced the Agnes B locations in HK as he is also in HK. So we are shipping him 3 pallets of our Patchwork tile for his new HK restaurants. Lovely photos and I too love the concept of cafe and florist together. I always loved the fresh smell inside old fashioned florist shops. Click here for more info on our Patchwork Tile.
