Snow in Trent Park 1

Free People backless dress STYLE SLICKER 2

The second arrival of today’s snowfall was splendid and iffy, but the freezing cold temperature (it dropped to below -2’c) made it feel rather unbearable particularly of those who resides in suburban and rural parts of London, I live in Southgate N14 and IT’S BLOOMING FREEZING UP HERE!  I’ve had this backless jersey maxi dress from Free People since Christmas Eve, thought today would be a great opportunity to shoot the dress it in snowy Trent Park again (see map here).  What? Backless?  Yes, meaning exposing my bare naked back to the formidable stream of knife-stabbing air.  However, I froze like a frigid rabbit in a state of mental shock which lasted 15 shots and 25 seconds.  I need to recuperate.

My outfit: Backless ruffled-back jersey maxi dress c/o Free People, strappy heels from Zara. Photos by my lil bro Ken.

We truly must suffer for fashion. The snow and the dress both look amazing and gorgeous. I’ve been looking at all you London bloggers today, revelling in the snow, I’m so jealous x

Anyway, the photos are gorgeous- sacrificing the back was totally worth it

Don’t we all sacrifice our health for the sake of pretty pictures? I do too and they mostly failed. I love the V back dress you’re wearing, chic and sophisticated. Hope you’re recovered from the nasty wind.

Very well executed before you froze to death in the cold.

  • thecitygourmand 20th January 2013 at 02:08

The things we submit ourselves to, really. Good on you!

  • Katherine 20th January 2013 at 02:39

I live in Inverness the freezing temperature and weather conditions makes it (no doubt) IMPOSSIBLE to do self style shots such like these, one step in the cold you’d feel like being in a freezer 100 times colder than in the south. I admire your bravery, if you want, come to the North we have lovely sceneries here.

  • Becky | 20th January 2013 at 18:28

Kit these photos are just stunning. Really, really beautiful and so worth the cold you’ll probably get!

p.s. Did you get your hair cut? It looks different in the last shot…

  • Kit 20th January 2013 at 18:30

@Becky | Yeah, same haircut from the previous outfit post, had a fringe trim and layers….cut by me 😛

  • steph 20th January 2013 at 22:50

oh my, braving the cold in this backless dress is definitely worth it – amazing photos kit! actually almost makes me wish it snows here despite me absolutely hating the cold. the red heels are a perfect touch!

  • Sabrina 22nd January 2013 at 23:23

That first pic could be an ad campaign! Also did you ruin your red suede heels in the snow??

  • Mun 24th January 2013 at 13:01

    The setting’s perfect! Gorgeous style!
The pictures reminded me so much of ‘snow white and the huntsman’
