The Dark Side of Purple

On my recent trip to the Harry Potter land in Oxford with my girls Shini, Jill and Jen as our tour guide, I spent a lot of time s-h-i-v-e-r-i-n-g and rubbing myself warm, not a great deal of help in my borrowed Burberry duffel coat.  Oh what the heck.

Currently at home with a heater on full blast still feels like -15’C, a hot water bottle dressed in sheep patterned case stuffed in my pink dressing gown, my skull is filled with ice – I’m brain dead.

EDIT** Alot of you are interested what colour lipstick I am wearing here, well I’m wearing ‘Claret‘ no 16 by BURBERRY there you go.

Thanks Jen for picture 1 and thanks Shini for pictures 3,4 and 5.

My outfit: My pink cardigan – MEXX, Scarf – BURBERRY, Coat – BURBERRY, Dress – KAREN MILLEN, Vintage bag – BEYOND RETRO, Gloves – courtesy of BRORA, Leggings – H&M, Socks – M&S, Shoes – OFFICE.

Is it obnoxious if I say I love that first photo of you?! Hah. I really do though. You do an excellent jump. I seriously adore the bright colours you always seem to wear. If I saw you in top to toe black without some dash of stand-out colour I think I’d be truly appalled. This is seriously your signature – along with a silk scarf tied around your top knot at fashion week!

p.s. mix of colours/patterns in final shot is so perfect. come back to oxford anytime! xx

@the style crusader – Thank you Jen that was a great jump haha. I’m afraid you’ll see in head to toe in black tomorrow (Tues) I must find some bright coloured tights to wear :S

    Kit, you’re always a colourful-humble fashionista.

  • Reply Yasmin 30th November 2010 at 00:37

Can’t imagine you wear head to toe in black – that would look awkward on you – if you do, well bright lips will do well.

Kit, you’re amazing. I might just have to share your pic on Tumblr (with links of course!). That first shot is my favourite. I’m totally loving all the brights!

Also. I want the Diana for Xmas soooooo much! Though my pics will never be as good as yours…

@Winnie – Sure sure :D My Diana Mini is a fiddly little camera it’s one of my least favourite lomo toys. I’d suggest get a Lubitel or an LCA.

What are these beautiful burst of colors? Love how you mix the canary yellow, teal, plum and the beautiful lip color of yours.

The jumping shot is amazing, great job to the photographer (thumbs up).

I love those Brora patterned gloves, I’d like a pair too. Where do you get them? Is there a shop in London?

    • Reply Kit @ Style Slicker 1st December 2010 at 02:29

@Viva – The Brora gloves was a gift from their PR agency, I wore their cardigan version in the MCM shoot and I loved it, couldn’t have the cardigan but gave me the gloves instead. It’s £45 and there are several stockists in London HERE.

@Stephie – Don’t come to London in the Winter, it’s horrible!

  • Reply jill (polka dot) 1st December 2010 at 10:38

Oh that top shot IS amazing! It almost looks cut out and on a different background but I know you were there.

Kit I’m sorry & a little embarrassed: I’ve been looking at your shots from that day and thinking so much about how I’ll do my Kit’s Greatest Hits post that I forgot to send you mine! It’s probably too late but I’ll send them anyway. But Shini’s and Jen’s are better.

You do have the most sophisticated colour sense of anyone I’ve known. AND wicked sense of humour. I think the two go hand in hand. Stay warm dude. xxx

  • Reply stephie 1st December 2010 at 11:06

Kit, I love this! I hardly experience winter, but I think colours, florals and knit have the ability to chase the dreary weather away. At least outfits-wise!

    Stay warm, take care!

@Tiffany Li – I zoomed the picture in the other week, I think it’s a Kestrel ready to catch a victim for it’s dinner plate. The picture was taken whilst on a speedy train to Oxford….yeah I know…..good thing I set the shutter speed to 1/800.
      @Soon – Yes I was :D, Should’ve said hi :D
