Breakfast At Shanghai Tang

8th November 2010

A while ago I had the most amazing and very delightful posh canape-breakfast at the Shanghai Tang store on Sloane Street, influential bloggers in attendance were Disney Roller Girl, Mademoiselle Robot, Bitch Buzz, Osman from Sketchbook magazine, The Very Simon G, Alex Loves, Fashion Foie Gras, Alison and The Clothes Whisperer along with her cutie Butters.  We were introduced to Jocelyn Yong, an International Marketing Director she flew specially from Hong Kong for the event…HOW AMAZING!  I loved how Jocelyn presented the brand to us in a passionate and vibrant way I felt inspirational and proud to be Chinese….she did a great job.

I discovered Shanghai Tang store in the early 2000 whilst I was a fashion student looking for authentic oriental fabrics for my uni project, I remember I bought a couple metres of each different coloured hand embroidered silk-brocade fabric from their tailoring department all for £100…I left the store terribly skint for two weeks, it was worth it though I still kept some of the scraps/leftovers in scraps box at home in the attic.

It was my first intimate bloggers breakfast in London and my first intimate lunch was in Paris last summer (bloggers Paris trip courtesy of Eurostar) where I met Disney Roller Girl, Bitch Buzz and Mademoiselle Robot…this event made it pretty special and a sweet reunion for us.

*EDIT* Just found out my good friend Elizabeth Lau designed those (last photo) ‘right’ and ‘left’ baby shoes when she was the accessories designer at Shanghai Tang, what a cool coincidence!

Thank you Devetta PR and Shanghai Tang staff for your warm welcome and generous gift.

For information on Shanghai Tang and stores world wide click HERE, I’d been to one store in Tsim Sha Tsui next to the infamous The Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong, I had the best first class shopping experience there.
