Last week I’ve been keeping myself occupied in the nights of heavy snow storm (a little over exaggerated) and liaising emails with PRs in Hong Kong in the middle of the twilight morning which is 8 hours ahead*. Browsing Style.com for SS11 looks with Hong Kong stockists and calling in samples for my Asian editorial shoot proves a difficult task, my sleep pattern and body clock were pretty much messed up there was a night where I literally had no sleep at all.  You may have seen my repeated rants on Twitter ‘the samples I have requested are stuck in New York, Paris…mother nature I curse you…’

This is what you get (DIYed mittens, as pictured) when you’re waiting for responses from Hong Kong, DIY-ing at 4am.

*3am it’s when I usually receive first few emails from HK, that’s 11am over there …get it?
Mittens – JACK WILLS bought in sample sale, Multi-coloured heart shaped buttons – LIBERTY.

I love this! What a great productive little outlet for while you were waiting to be productive. They are gorgeous. I’ve got to make a pair for myself one day…

Hope everything is going well with planning for the shoot and that you are able to get some sleep this week (although I doubt you will be able to until after it’s over… or is there just more work to be done then??). Love from Sweden. xx

Are you insane? How do you have the energy to customize a pair of mittens in the middle of the night? You must be really shattered to be that crazy.

    Crazy girl.

Why didn’t you do the emailings before bed time say, before 12am and reply the emails at 7am? Or it’s too late for that?

    • Reply Kit @ Style Slicker 28th December 2010 at 16:28

@ Yulia – If I had to get up at 7am to reply the emails, it would’ve been 3pm. There’d be little time to liaise with PRs in HK. I liaised between 3am to 9am for almost a week…maybe I should’ve tired an intern in HK hahaha.

The title Snow Fruits sums up really well with your customised mittens, so cute. Everybody needs a piece of snow fruit in our lives.

There’s nothing you can with mother nature, yes she can be a little devil and unpredictable at times especially in Winter and Summer times with all the snow storm, flood, draught and so on.

Oh what samples were you calling in for? I’m curious 😀

Yeah I read your tweets ‘God, do this girl ever sleep?’
Hope you rest well after the shoot.

Oh maaan adoooorable – what a way to sprice up mittens!! I don’t usually like mittens because I’m scared of having 4 fingers instead of 10, but I think I could forgive a pair if they looked like this…

    • Reply Kit @ Style Slicker 29th December 2010 at 12:52

@ Shini – You weird girl, they’re only fingers. Well, ok same here.

Aw they are soooo cute! I’ve been thinking of you – we’re back in London – but didn’t want to disturb you because I didn’t know when your shoot(s) were/are but want to wish you good luck. Is there any way I can help?

Haha I keep looking at these mittens, they are so cute but also I have this image of you making a certain face while on hold with a PR company in Hong Kong at 3:23 a.m. while furiously sewing.. it’s so productive, I mean, it beats chain smoking dude.

Any time you need a break – or need someone to make calls – just let me know. xxx

@ Jill – Welcome to the English soil. The shoot is tomorrow….really can’t wait, my two assistants are coming with me to Manchester…hope the weather won’t wreck our train journey hahaha. I should be available to meet up for coffee this weekend ;P
