An Unpredictable Revolution – Minimal Overload

15th August 2010

‘An Unpredictable Revolution is a story torn from the pages of a debutante’s dairy.  We harked back to the 1700s and 1800s, spanning oceans and continets for our inspiration.

Inspired by the mystery and secret handshakes of past uprisings, and drawing from the restless human spirit that sees people from cultures the world over rise to create change.’

I was asked to participate a project with MIMCO (an accessory label based in Australia) in their ‘An unpredictable Revolution, season 2’ campaign project which I happily accepted.  I chose an expensive product (woohoo), a darkness necklace vest from their limited edition range.  The idea is to use the neck piece to interprete by one of the four themes in the collection, ‘Darkness becomes her’, ‘Tortured Elegance’ ‘Twisted Kinship’ and ‘Minimal Overload’.  I of course chose ‘Minimal Overload’ theme.

‘Minimal Overload’ – Taking the essence of Twisted Kinship and giving it an early 90s slant is the foundation for this story.  Jelly acetates combine with sleek hardware in jewellery and bags.  Overload – Kaleido – Clean – Purist – Sportivo – Minimalia – Morph – Reflective.

This is what I came up with.

Thanks to Paulina for being my model and Lina for make up, styling and photography all by me ;P  Shot in a seaside town of Eastbourne.
