I should have published this post before London Fashion Week, I somehow mislaid my CF cards somewhere at home and then forgot about it until I found them on my desk, peeping out under a huge pile of clutter like terrapins waking up from their long hibernation. I gave a huge sigh of relief, all pictures were saved and untampered by dust, the desk is still very much cluttered and growing.
I think it was around August when I had the opportunity to visit Penelope Chilvers‘s West London studio, after lusting over their Floral Dandy slippers after spotted them at Liberty back in the summer, annoyingly the style sold out pretty quickly, that really shattered me. I was fortunate to be given their last pair in pink to keep, in my size, hoorah and a big thank you! I haven’t had the opportunity to wear it yet, only if the weather doesn’t screw me up big time because they’re made of satin and fine embroidery artwork! Their best selling Dandy slipper comes in a range of rich velvet embroidered with array of motifs (you can personalised your initials too), traditional hand-made needlepoint, exotic mock croc, Penelope Chilvers also offers bespoke Dandy slippers, as well as other styles – Chelsea boots, non-slip snowboots with shearling lining, weekender bags and many more. Now I’m obsessing over this pink Viva La Dandy slipper! Oh, I almost forgot, Penelope Chilvers has opened their first standalone store in Notting Hill, do pay them a visit!
