I have been sucked into the world of interior design and outdoor living space on Pinterest, thanks to my over enthusiastic pins and repins catalogued in one story board that makes me feel depressed on a daily basis…big envy! From a pictorial point of view, the pinned images allows you to challenge your creativity and your blog’s pictorial content – composition, still life, lighting, props, location, atmosphere, and so on. With these elements, it will improve your photography. I am still learning.
I don’t normally do press days for the blog’s sake, it doesn’t translate well to my blog, the content would often get lost along the way, but I don’t have an objection if that applies above or improvise in my own way that would look fit for purpose. The MiH Jeans HQ in Shepherds Bush ‘The Studios’ is a great example for their modern and contemporary aesthetic. Originally built as a Victorian schoolhouse, converted into 7,500 sq.ft. space includes an open plan office space, two showrooms, a kitchen and bar, conference room, photography studio, wash development room, design studio, all under one roof. Their AW13 press day became a real life Pinterest moment for me, I wanted to pin every corner with a blink of an eye. The kitchen and bar provided sumptuous finger food (thanks to Shini for being in the pictures), kitchen shelves ladened with potted plants and old British china, sweet scented Narcissus complimented the 1920s florist table made from solid Elmwood (very Instagramable I must say) and rails of AW13 collection stands perfectly against the white wash brick wall, the dot/stripe print silk tails shirt was a winner for me. I would categorise the showroom or press day as ‘Visual Spectacle’. Enough said.
