For a beautiful world

Kenzo illustrated by Kit Lee

You know me, it is necessary to talk about flowers and blossoms whilst I'm enjoying the early start of Spring, even though we're experiencing some rather unexpected return of sleet and subzero temperature in London.  Now where are my thermals.

To coincide International Woman's Day and Mothering Sunday last week (yes we have Mother's Day in March), Kenzo released a new film entitled 'For A Beautiful World'.  Kenzo questions, 'Can a woman's vision make the world more beautiful?' – in my case, it only exist in dreams.  I tend to extract a dream sequence and translate onto a blank canvas or digitally, such as this hand-drawn poppies hovering over the River Seine, using borrowed reference from Kenzo's floating poppy ad scene, which encapsulate's my own kind of beautiful world through Kenzo's vision.  Flowers only.

'FlowerbyKenzo tells a new half-aquatic, half-ethereal story, a story of magic and enchantment.  A story of beauty, yes.  But not only.'

  1. Kenzo has been my signature scent since I first discovered their perfume range 6 years ago, I never changed nor used other branded products since.
    Love your illustration.

  2. Oh wow, you must have taken your time drawing those poppies, they’re not repeated at all! Such a lovely picture.
