Upon my arrival at Monki SS12 press day my jaw dropped to the ground, dripping with nose bleed and waving a stained white handkerchief in silly despair, I surrender! I so want to steal all the Monki samples and mascots under my arms (including the hangers) and discreetly leave the building.  The SS12 collection is ferociously cute, comes in 4 themes – California Dancing, Nautical But Nice, Step Into The Jungle and Suprematist Move…my favourite.  I was very fortunate to meet the Monki Concept Manager Yvonne Da Silva (a fellow Swede and Chinese herself), so lovely in fact our casual conversation lasted…well, it could last a lifetime.  I'm very looking forward to their first stand alone store opening on Carnaby Street, London on February!  Can't wait to splurge, woohoo!

  1. @Krys I know right? Spring comes really late in London, but the weather in HK is perfect to wear these long term.

  2. The collection looks amazing and those are some spiffy hangers. I love the minimalistic feel and all the different prints that were used in it; it makes me want spring to come as soon as possible! Thanks for sharing these lovely photographs! xx

  3. Oh man, I see what you mean about the awesome press day! I can’t wait for it to open on Carnaby St either, would be the first Monki store I’ve visited outside of HK….Selfridges doesn’t count! So many pretty colours!

  4. What in the world!!!! How come we don’t have Monki press days in London but with IPR? This is fantastic and I’m jealous you get to see the full collection, meet the concept manager and live models? Nice. Me too I can’t wait for the store opening in London :D

  5. I am still glad you could make it (after our talks for months!!) – even better, you truly like our monkish way of styling and doing things, yayy! Hope we could meet up once more before you head-off.

  6. @Nora Monki is part of the H&M group. I knew about the brand via style blogs like early last year, hope Monki will come to your city :P

  7. Okay, I first thought how good could hangers be for you to wanna steal them.. but omg they’re so pretty! I love the head shaped one? with the short bob hair? Adorable! Honestly never heard of Monki before but now I’m intrigued! Lucky you :)
