Masha Ma

I received my first invitation email from Masha Ma in the middle of summer to visit her studio in north London and view her collection before showing at LFW, I can’t remember whether I’ve replied her email or not – I was in the middle of the busy fashion shoot period there weren’t any time to visit any showrooms let alone press appointments.  Shin was invited too and read the feature on her post, it sounded exciting…I, in my heart REGRETTED for not emailing back ‘Yes yes I would love to come to see your work…’  Well a few months later I got invited to come to the show, thanks to Shin YAY!

Ice Breaker – ‘The debut show looks at strong elements such as silver and steel juxtaposed with the intricate elegance found in the use of the finest cotton, draping and finish.  Inspired by rugged buildings in the meatpacking district in New York City, the collection is industrial chic with a touch of subtle futurism.  White, ice blue, a touch of blush and a speck of silver is the colour palette; pastel while still being sharp.’

It’s a stunning-breathtaking collection for SS11 and has becoming one of my favourites.  Loving all the layering, flowy shirts, prints, chiffons, light constructed jackets to break down the softness of the outfit, the collection is so dream-like I can see myself wearing of the outfits/pieces next summer.  Congratulations Masha Ma!
